So you want to monitor your websites activity eh?! Curious to gain an insight into which of your WebPages is performing the best? Then you need to start thinking about web tracking tools. These powerful apps can keep a keen eye on your incoming and outgoing traffic and provide a wealth of helpful stats at your finger tips.
Many of these tools have been available for quite some time, such as webalizer, but without doubt the most intuitive and concise to use has to be Google Analytics.
Originally named urchin tracker, it debuted in 2005 and has been expanding with features ever since.
Its dashboard interface is easy to navigate and enables the user to view everything from page visits, time spent on a page, country your visitor came from (GeoTargeting) to benchmarking tools. And it also ties in with AdWords. Pretty much Big Brother for the web!!
One of the most useful features I find is its level of customisability along with its fancy emailing capabilities.
You can for example totally customise all the metric data gathered and then have this customised report scheduled to be sent out whenever you want.
