Now a couple of wee points to note...
We offer search engine optimisation to our clients as a value-added service BUT we are NOT a dedicated Search Engine Optimisation company nor a Search Engine Marketing company. At the end of the day, we don't have the inclination nor the manpower to monitor sites on a fulltime basis and there are many companies out there that specialise in this line of work. It's not our passion and frankly we'd probably all be snoozing at our desks after a couple of hours of it.
Now, after saying all that...we do know what we're doing when it comes to improving the ranking of a site and we apply this knowledge when we design and develop websites. We can also apply our methods to sites that have been built by other companies. These methods have been proven to work but like many other design companies "in the know" - we cannot guarantee a particular ranking on any search engine. If someone says they can guarantee a certain ranking then take this with a pinch of salt!
In A Hurry To Get Noticed?
If you are in a hurry to get your site noticed in major search engines, then pay-per-click advertising offers a nice solution. It will take a while (usually a minimum of a few weeks) before most of the major search engines have indexed a newly optimised site, and that's why pay-per-click advertising is handy.
The huge advantage of pay-per-click advertising is that setup is instant and you only pay when someone actually visits your site.
